Getting there
- On foot: the centre is a few minutes’ walk from Casa Bosco.
Explore Minca
A tiny mountain village: a handful of streets, cafés, food for every taste, crafts and two small museums.
Minca is no colonial postcard and does not pretend to be. It is a few streets at 650 m, a plaza where the mototaxis wait, and the mountain looming over everything. The real show is all around it; the village is the front door.
Food covers the bases: international restaurants, pizza, burgers, arepas and the trusty corrientazo set lunch. The side streets hold small shops with crafts, some made by Indigenous peoples of the Sierra.
To understand the place, drop into Museo Minca (Casa de la Memoria), a community museum about the area’s memory of the armed conflict — Visit my Colombia reports it as free. Museo del Cacao combines a chocolate workshop, tastings and the history of cacao.
Nights are quiet; nightlife, barely. It is the ideal spot for an afternoon of coffee, hammocks and watching rain sweep over the forest.
Casa Bosco doesn’t sell or run this visit: go on your own or with a local guide.
Everything on this page comes from these sources. If something has changed, check on the spot.
